Prevent Scoliosis Surgery

Did you know, in 2013 The New England Journal of Medicine published a multi-center study to determine whether wearing scoliosis braces would prevent the need for corrective spinal surgery in children with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS)?  The study was cut short when the results overwhelmingly in favor of bracing.

If applied before or during the child’s growth phase, a good correction can be made and maintained.

Adolescent girls are more likely than boys to have idiopathic scoliosis, or curvature of the spine from no known cause. Rigid bracing is worn to restore spine alignment by external force.

It is a demanding treatment at a vulnerable time of life.

At Scoliosis AZ Centers we use the best non-surgical approaches to treating AIS.  Our goal is to Prevent Scoliosis surgery when possible.
